Instructions for Use:
- Input Capacitor Selection: Choose an input capacitor with low ESR to minimize voltage ripple. A ceramic capacitor is recommended.
- Output Capacitor Selection: Select an output capacitor that can handle the required output current and provides stable operation. A ceramic capacitor with X5R or X7R dielectric is suggested.
- Inductor Selection: The inductor should be chosen based on the desired output current and switching frequency. Ensure it has a saturation current rating higher than the maximum output current.
- Layout Considerations: Keep the layout compact to minimize parasitic inductance and capacitance. Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the device.
- Thermal Considerations: Ensure adequate heat dissipation by providing a good thermal path, such as a ground plane under the device.
- Shutdown Operation: To place the part into shutdown mode, pull the SHDN pin below 0.4V. In this state, the quiescent current drops to less than 1μA.
- Stability: For stable operation, ensure the loop compensation components are selected according to the application circuit guidelines provided in the datasheet.
