Instructions for Using FAN2508SX

1. Power Supply Connection:

   • Connect the input voltage (V_IN) between the VIN and GND pins. Ensure the voltage is within the specified range of 4.5V to 18V.

2. Output Configuration:

   • The output (V_OUT) should be connected to the load. The device can supply up to 3A continuously. For higher currents, ensure adequate heat dissipation.

3. Setting Switching Frequency:

   • The switching frequency is internally set to 600kHz. External components are not required for frequency setting.

4. Efficiency Considerations:

   • To achieve the typical efficiency of 90%, use recommended external components and ensure proper PCB layout practices.

5. Thermal Management:

   • Monitor the operating temperature to prevent exceeding the thermal shutdown point of 160°C. Use heatsinks or spread copper areas if necessary.

6. Protection Features:

   • The device includes built-in overcurrent, overtemperature, and short-circuit protection. In case of fault conditions, the device will automatically shut down to protect itself.

7. Shutdown Mode:

   • To place the device in shutdown mode, pull the EN pin low. This reduces the supply current to approximately 0.1μA.

8. Layout Recommendations:
